Samsung Ativ SE Galaxy S4-like Windows Phone handset leaks in new color option

The purported Samsung ATIV SE Windows Phone handset has leaked again, this time in a new shade with the same brushed metal look seen in previous leaks.

Samsung has not launched a Windows Phone smartphone for quite some time, but is apparently working on this Ativ SE handset that is expected to launch soon as a Verizon exclusive in the U.S.

While previous leaks showed the smartphone in a bright silver color option, the latest leak now comes with a darker titanium gray shade. The handset seems to sport a brushed aluminum look, but Samsung will most likely use plastic and not metal. The company didn't even use metal for its latest flagship, which makes it highly unlikely that a mid-range Windows Phone smartphone would be the first one to ditch the plastic casing in favor of a more premium metal build.

The latest image comes from well-known tipster @evleaks, the same source of the previously-leaked press renders of the Samsung Ativ SE. The tipster has an excellent track record and has proved to be accurate countless times in the past.

Based on recent leaks and a benchmark listing that popped up earlier this month, the Samsung Ativ SE is expected to sport a 5-inch full HD display (possibly AMOLED), a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor (not the Snapdragon 200 as previously rumored), 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage capacity. In other words, the Samsung Ativ SE seems to be quite similar to the Galaxy S4. In fact, the two smartphones are very similar in terms of design as well, as the Ativ SE looks almost identical to the Galaxy S4.

There's no specific launch date currently available for the Samsung Ativ SE, but the new Windows Phone smartphone may make its debut at Microsoft's BUILD 2014 conference early next month. Nokia is also rumored to unveil two highly-anticipated handsets at the conference - the Lumia 630 and the Lumia 930. The latter is expected to launch as the international version of the much-touted Nokia Lumia Icon, which is currently available only in the U.S. as a Verizon Wireless exclusive.

Keep in mind, however, that nothing is officially confirmed at this point, so it is highly advisable to take all leaks, rumors, and speculation with a grain of salt.
