Micromax has just launched two budget tablets in the Indian market. The first one is the Canvas Tab P650E which has been launched for Rs 8,999 and is the first tablet with CDMA support in the Canvas series of tablets. The second one is the Funbook Ultra HD P580 which has been launched for Rs 11,999 and will be the flagship tablet in the Funbook series. Let us take a look at the specifications of both the tablets.
Micromax Canvas Tab P650E
- 7-inch capactive display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels
- 1.2 GHz quad core processor which we believe is a Mediatek unit
- 512MB RAM
- Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and the same according to us is simply unacceptable because every budget tablet runs on at least Android 4.2 these days.
- 2MP primary camera without flash and VGA front camera for video calling
- 4GB internal memory out of which 1.9GB is available

- 7.8-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels
- 1.2 GHz quad core processor which is a Mediatek unit found in almost every budget quad core device
- 1GB RAM
- Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean
- 8GB internal storage out of which about 6GB which be user available
- microSD card slot for expansion up to 32GB
- 3G support via SIM card and calling capabilities, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0 , GPS with aGPS
- 3600 mAh battery
- Black and White colour options
- price - Rs 11,999
Both the tablets have gone on sale on various e-commerce websites and their official launch seems just around the corner. They are good devices but the Nexus 7 (2012) somehow makes a lot more sense than any other budget tablet seeing the fact that it costs similar.
