The South Korean tech giant LG has finally launched its premium device G Flex in India for a whopping price Rs.69,999.Even though there are only two curved smartphones right now, LG predicts the market for curved displays will grow to as much as $2.5 billion by 2018. If that's the case, we're witnessing the beginning of something big. Perhaps it's appropriate, then, that LG's inaugural device is... well, big? At 160.5 x 81.6 x 8.7mm, the G Flex, which features a 6-inch display, could be considered large even compared to the LG G2 or the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
The LG G Flex with this price tag is one of the costliest smartphones available in India as it is more expensive than iPhone 5s, HTC One Max, Nokia Lumia 1520 and Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
True to its name, G Flex is an amazingly flexible device, apart from being curved. On being pushed against it curves, LG G Flex flattens. And when the pressure is removed, the phone reverts to original curved shape.
In the product information, the company claims "LG G Flex follows the natural curvature of your face, enhancing voice and sound quality by reducing the gap between the speakers and your mouth or ear. The contour also allows for the most comfortable in-hand grip and in pocket fit, designed around you for ergonomic usability and convenient portability."
The G Flex comes with self-healing back cover surface that protects it from scratches that come from daily use, so it maintains a clean, like new appearance.
