Yu Yureka sells out in 4 secs on Amazon; sales to take place every Thursday from now on

Micromax’s YU Yureka which went on sale today at 2pm was sold out in 4 seconds, according to a press statement from the company. The smartphone which is being sold exclusively on Amazon, will hence forth, go on sale every Thursday at 2pm. Registrations for the smartphone will begin a week prior on the same day at 5pm.
Micromax Yu Yureka will have their second round of sale today on Amazon India scheduled at 2 pm. It will be priced at Rs. 8,999. Users who registered to buy the smartphone before 13th January, will remain pre-registered and can take part in the sale just the same as last time.
During their 1st flash sale, Micromax claims to have sold 10000 Yu Yureka smartphones in three seconds. It was quite a small number, compared to 3 lakh users who had apparently registered for the sale on Amazon.
Amazon India, which has the exclusive rights to sell Micromax’s Yu Yureka in the country, had also faced a glitch during their last sale. A few users were asked to pay Rs. 12,499, which is higher than the launch price. Amazon did apologise to it’s users for this error but instead of refunding them in cash, they chose to give buyers coupons and vouchers to be used on the site, something that hasn’t gone down well with customers.
Where specs of the Yu Yureka are concerned, this is a 4G device, which features Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octacore processor and 64-bit multi-core CPU, 5.5-inch HD IPS display, 2GB RAM, 16GB ROM, 12.5GB memory (for apps and mass storage and expandable up to 32 GB), 13MP rear and 5MP front camera and 2,500 mAh battery. It is the first device from YU to be launched with CyanogenMod OS and will get OTA firmware updates and support in India.
